It uses a metal belt to facilitate head movement and locks the disk with a lever. Head loading is done with a solenoid. It uses the [[#pn128xxx-31|PN128XXX-31]] control board. ===== Types ===== The YD-380 model has a number of types. They can be identified via the label that is located on the back of the drive (connector side). ==== Type 1711 ==== === Description === The 1711 type uses the Yaskawa GCMK-77X or Sankyo E2SLR3 motor board. === Pictures === | {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1711_back.jpg?200 |}} | {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1711_top1.jpg?200 |}} {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1711_top2.jpg?200 |}} \\ {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1711_top3.jpg?200 |}} | {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1711_bottom1.jpg?200 |}} \\ {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1711_bottom2.jpg?200 |}} | | {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1711_front1.jpg?200 |}} \\ {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1711_front2.jpg?200 |}} | ::: | ::: | | {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1711_pcb1.jpg?200 |}} \\ {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1711_pcb2.jpg?200 |}} \\ {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1711_pcb3.jpg?200 |}} | ::: | ::: | ==== Type 1718 ==== === Description === The 1718 type uses the Yaskawa GCMK-77X motor board. === Pictures === | {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1718_back.jpg?200 |}} | {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1718_top.jpg?200 |}} | {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1718_bottom.jpg?200 |}} | | {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1718_front.jpg?200 |}} | ::: | ::: | | {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:1718_pcb.jpg?200 |}} | ::: | ::: | ===== Jumper settings ===== ==== PN128XXX-31 ==== {{ :5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:pn128xxx-31.pdf |}} ++++View PDF| {{pdfjs 100%,800px>:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:pn128xxx-31.pdf?page-width}} ++++ ===== Modifications ===== ==== 84 track seeking ==== Unmodified drives will not be able to seek 84 tracks. A major modification is required to enable this. {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:mod_84tracks_1.jpg?200|}} {{:5_25_floppy_drives:ye_data_yd-380:mod_84tracks_2.jpg?200|}} The modification can be performed by following these steps: - Unscrew the springs that hold the head assembly guild rod on the stepper motor side. - Pull out the guide rod about half way. - Use a rotary tool to grind down the head assembly end stop as pictured. - Clean the drive of any metal dust. - Push the guide rod back into its resting position. - Screw down the springs that hold the guild rod in place.
